The following rules concern this original demo alone. Its calculations do not establish the mathematics, security, legality or catalogue of another product. There are no monetary deposits or customer accounts in the demo.
Exactly one main-diagonal hazard with companions
Choose 3, 4 or 5 hazards on the 4×4 board. Exactly one hazard lies on the main diagonal from top-left to bottom-right. Every hazard, including that one, must have another hazard one row and one column away. Orthogonal adjacency alone does not qualify.
The anti-diagonal has no quota and separate diagonal-connected groups are allowed. Legal supports contain 6, 40 and 120 layouts for three, four and five hazards. Sample uniformly once; never relocate. A1 and D4 are safe in every supported mode: a corner hazard would require its diagonal neighbour, creating two main-diagonal hazards.
Each choice uses its own conditional probability
After the opened safe cells are known, let N be the number of legal layouts consistent with that history. For an unopened cell let K be the number of those layouts where it is safe. Its safe probability is K/N. Each eligible cell shows that probability; it is not a generic remaining-safe-cells ratio.
The quote starts at 0.97. A safe reveal changes quote q to q×N/K, using the probability of that very chosen cell before revealing it. A hazard ends the round with zero return. Collect returns captured stake times quote, with fractional carry. The identity (K/N)×(q×N/K)=q explains 97% expected gross return for choices using revealed information. This is not a win probability or a guaranteed session return.
Guaranteed-safe cells do not increase the quote
A cell safe in every remaining layout has probability one. Opening it leaves the quote unchanged. Collecting after a guaranteed-safe first pick returns 0.97 times the captured stake, so it does not avoid the opening three-percent expected loss.
If no eligible uncertain cell remains, the current quote settles automatically even when unopened proven-safe cells remain. Proven hazards and quotes above 1,000× are disabled.
Local virtual balance and fractional carry
The initial balance is 1,000 free virtual coins without monetary value or prize entitlement. The settled balance and fractional payout carry are kept in local browser storage when available. A fraction is carried into later settlements rather than discarded on each payout.
Restore balance is available only while idle and below the minimum stake of 10. It sets the balance to 1,000, rather than adding 1,000, and preserves the fraction. It is a manual button, not an automatic reset or a refund for an interrupted round.
Captured settings and visible cell probabilities
While idle, choose hazard count and 10, 20, 50 or 100 virtual coins. Start shelves captures those settings and deducts one stake. Hazard count, stake and refill controls stay locked during the round. Collection is unavailable before the first safe reveal.
There is no Auto queue, timed crash or cashout threshold setting. Each click reveals one eligible cell immediately. Sound is optional. The game does not animate a moving hazard or require a reflex action; the hidden layout remains fixed.
Frequently asked questions
Does the name establish a publisher?
KM98 is a search name here without a confirmed commercial identity. This guide hosts its own Diagonal Companions game. It confirms no outside operator, affiliation, official domain, licence, payment service or app. Similar naming does not establish a shared publisher. The following rules concern this original demo alone. Its calculations do not establish the mathematics, security, legality or catalogue of another product. There are no monetary deposits or customer accounts in the demo.
What makes a hazard layout legal?
How is the chosen cell priced?
Do guaranteed-safe cells remove the opening loss?
A cell safe in every remaining layout has probability one. Opening it leaves the quote unchanged. Collecting after a guaranteed-safe first pick returns 0.97 times the captured stake, so it does not avoid the opening three-percent expected loss. If no eligible uncertain cell remains, the current quote settles automatically even when unopened proven-safe cells remain. Proven hazards and quotes above 1,000× are disabled.
Can round settings change?
While idle, choose hazard count and 10, 20, 50 or 100 virtual coins. Start shelves captures those settings and deducts one stake. Hazard count, stake and refill controls stay locked during the round. Collection is unavailable before the first safe reveal. There is no Auto queue, timed crash or cashout threshold setting. Each click reveals one eligible cell immediately. Sound is optional. The game does not animate a moving hazard or require a reflex action; the hidden layout remains fixed.
When can the balance be restored?
The initial balance is 1,000 free virtual coins without monetary value or prize entitlement. The settled balance and fractional payout carry are kept in local browser storage when available. A fraction is carried into later settlements rather than discarded on each payout. Restore balance is available only while idle and below the minimum stake of 10. It sets the balance to 1,000, rather than adding 1,000, and preserves the fraction. It is a manual button, not an automatic reset or a refund for an interrupted round.
Does reload resume an unfinished layout?
The active hidden layout and opened cells are not saved for recovery. Reloading or leaving does not resume the round or refund its already deducted stake. The settled balance and fractional payout carry can persist in this browser. Deleting local website data can remove those values. Clearing cached files alone is different from deleting local storage. The virtual balance is not a customer account synchronized between devices.
Do all requests stay on this device?
The game does not require a customer account, identity document or bank information. Local storage explains the balance and fractional carry, but does not imply that every request made while loading the page stays on the device. Font, analytics, hosting and CDN requests may transmit technical information such as IP address and request details. This guide promises no complete anonymity, precise retention period, absence of profiling or third-party data-sale policy. Those questions require the providers’ own information.
Is an APK required?
This game runs directly in the browser. The guide supplies no verified KM98 APK, package identifier, publisher signature, release number or store link. APK search wording is not proof of an application’s existence or identity. No unknown-source permission, protection bypass, installation or device access is needed for this demo. A matching icon or version number does not establish a file’s safety. This game’s probabilities cannot validate external software.
Does enumeration certify an outside game?
Independent enumeration checks all 65,536 binary 4×4 boards for the chosen hazard count, exactly one main-diagonal hazard and a diagonal companion for every hazard. It compares the support and conditional cell probabilities with the actual source. At least one million actual-source rounds are simulated for each mode. This is evidence about this original demo only. It does not establish an outside publisher, licence, certified RNG, payment feature, legal permission or app safety.
Can I decline another round?
Participation is optional and offers no monetary prize. You may choose not to begin another round. Past outcomes do not make a fresh layout more favourable. A personal time limit does not change the layout distribution or conditional quote calculation. This guide provides no clinical self-test, universal legal-age claim, confirmed external self-exclusion feature or promised transferable gambling skill. If play disrupts daily life, qualified local support may help. A free demo does not establish another product’s safety.
What happens to proven-safe cells?
If K=0 the cell is a known hazard and cannot be chosen. If K=N it is proven safe, so choosing it does not change the quote. A next quote above 1,000× is disabled. If no eligible uncertain choice remains, the round settles automatically; otherwise collection is available after one safe reveal. The layout constraint can make different cells have different probabilities. After a safe reveal, a particular cell’s chance may rise or fall; risk does not necessarily increase uniformly across the board. Choices change which results are reached, without changing the stated expected gross return.
Does fractional carry survive refill?
A settled payout combines its fractional remainder with the saved carry before whole coins are credited. Carry stays separate from the displayed whole-coin balance and persists through refill. When idle below ten coins, manual refill sets the whole-coin balance to exactly 1,000. It preserves carry; it does not add 1,000 coins or resume an unfinished layout.
